Join us with our guest speaker, Imam Mumtaz, of Streatham Mosque for an eye opening insight into the signs leading to the Day of Judgement. Imam Mumtaz, much loved for his inspirational and captivating talks, will aim in this final part of the series, to cover the major signs. These include the emergence of the Mahdi, return of Isa (Jesus – alahi was-salam), and appearance of the Dajjal.
Coupled with awareness of the minor signs, this insight and knowledge, then acted upon by our humble souls shall insha’Allah (God willing) be a means for us to raise our own awareness such that we take active steps in protecting ourselves from such tribulations.
'Abd Allah said, "The Prophet said, 'Just before the Hour, there will be days in which knowledge will disappear and ignorance will appear, and there will be much killing.' " (Ibn Majah; also narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, from the Hadith of al-A'mash.)

DINNER FOR TWO AT AL-MIRAGE RESTAURANT, TOOTING!!
In recent times, we are experiencing an ever increasing level of disputes/arguments, mostly on scholarly issues or even very small petty ones concerning various aspects of the Deen of Islam. What many do not realise is that, in many instances there are legitimate differences of opinion, each being correct in their own way and angle of looking the topic concerned, and really no need to enforce opinions on eachother. Shaykh Muhammad Ashraf, a much loved local scholar will be addressing this issue, and insha'Allah talk on many misconceptions being spread regarding the classical teachings of Deen. Remember even our beloved Prophet (salallahu alayhi was-salam) once said, 'Differences of opinion are a blessing amongst my ummah'.
All are welcome.

In recent times, particularly amongst the youth we are experiencing an ever increasing level of disputes/arguements, mostly on scholarly issues or even very small petty ones concerning various aspects of the Deen of Islam. What many do not realise is that, in many instances there are ligitimate differences of opinion, each being correct in thier own way and angle of looking the topic concerned, and really no need to enforce opinions on eachother. Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam (Daruliftaa, Leicester), renound UK scholar will be addressing this issue, and insha'Allah talk on many misconceptions being spread regarding the classical teachings of Deen. Remember even our beloved Prophet (salallahu alayhi was-salam) once said,'Differences of opinion is a blessing amongst my ummah'. Have a look at Mufti's talk in Toronto on a similar issue: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=1493678200776990628&q=mufti%2BMuhammad%2Bibn%2Badam&total=8&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=1
Mufti Muhammad is one UKs most renound scholars. He has studied under various prominent Alims worldwide, ranging from the UK where he initially trained, to Syria and Pakistan receiving authorization (ijaza) from all, giving him a wide knowledge base and perspective on matters concerning to Islam. His full biography can be found at http://www.daruliftaa.com/biography.asp. Check his website for lectures, videos and a fantastic Q&A, and you shall realise yourself what a gem to the ummah he really is! DO NOT miss this opportunity, ulema of such calibre do not come often!
An book/audio stall will be available on the day insha'Allah |

Asalaam Alaikum,
Last night (Wed, 26th Jan) Islamic Relief held a dinner at the Park Lane Sheraton entitled "Night for a Million" where they hoped to raise a £1Million for the victims of the Tsunami disaster.
ULU ISOC and the Islamic societies of London (including St. Georges) were the first pledge on the night for approx £10,000. More pledges followed in quick succession and Alhumdulillah the evening went well.
I hope that we, at St. George's can try and lead by example by making a serious effort to make sure that our Tsunami appeal charity event/ dinner (for this coming Monday) goes well. We have Khalid Yasin down to speak insha'Allah, but what we really need is each and every person in the ISoc to make an all out effort to make sure the event goes well. What is needed of everyone will be announced at Jummah inshaAllah.
If you doubt what effect you can have or simply can't be bothered, then take a lesson from how much was raised at last nights dinner.
How much was raised, I hear you ask?
...£3.75 MILLION
Your brother in Islam,
WAJiD |
